TALKS, WORKSHOPS & SPEAKING
Thought-provoking conversations about identity, diversity, wellbeing, power and practice
I deliver engaging talks, keynote presentations and interactive workshops that invite people to think differently about identity, belonging, wellbeing, diversity, anti-oppressive, and professional practice.
Drawing on my experience as a therapist, clinical supervisor, author, coach, consultant, trainer, speaker and anti-oppressive practice specialist, I create sessions that combine professional expertise with practical insight, reflection and meaningful conversation.
My work is grounded in a simple belief:
Identity is the foundation of wellbeing.
Who we are, where we belong, how we are seen and the environments we live and work within all influence our wellbeing and our relationships with others.
Whether I'm speaking about anti-oppressive practice, supervision, therapy, mental health, wellbeing, cultural attunement or Colour & Identity colour analysis, my aim is to create conversations that move beyond awareness towards reflection, understanding and meaningful change.

SPEAKING & KEYNOTES
Talks that create space to think differently
My talks and keynote presentations are designed to be thought-provoking, accessible and relevant to the people in the room.
I can speak at conferences, professional events, organisational away days, universities, community events, women's networks and wellbeing programmes.
Speaking topics include:
Anti-Oppressive Practice
Moving beyond good intentions to explore power, privilege, marginalisation and difference, and the ways these dynamics can influence professional relationships, decision-making and practice.
Anti-Oppressive Supervision
Exploring how supervision can become a space for examining power, identity, difference, privilege and marginalisation, while supporting ethical, reflective and accountable practice.
Anti-Oppressive Wellbeing
Challenging the idea that wellbeing is simply an individual's responsibility.
This talk explores how identity, culture, systems, power and social context influence our ability to experience and sustain wellbeing.
Working Within Diversity
Drawing on my book Working Within Diversity, this session explores how practitioners can develop greater awareness of identity, cultural context, and power, privilege and oppression, while working from a position of anti-oppression.
Cultural Attunement in Practice
Exploring what it means to move beyond cultural awareness towards genuine cultural attunement, cultural humility, cultural empathy, and cultural curiosity and responsiveness in professional relationships.
Identity, Belonging & Wellbeing
Exploring the relationship between identity, belonging and wellbeing, and why understanding identity is essential to creating more meaningful and sustainable wellbeing.
Identity Is the Foundation of Wellbeing
A thought-provoking exploration of how identity, context, relationships and belonging shape our experience of wellbeing - and why wellbeing cannot be understood in isolation from the world around us.
Muslim Mental Health & Wellbeing
Exploring the relationship between faith, identity, culture and mental health, and considering how professionals can provide more culturally and faith-sensitive wellbeing support to Muslim communities.
Beyond Self-Care: An Anti-Oppressive Approach to Wellbeing
Moving beyond individualised ideas of self-care to consider the wider social, cultural and structural factors that shape our wellbeing.

Colour, Confidence & Professional Presence
Exploring the relationship between colour, confidence and authentic professional expression, with practical insights into how colour and knowing our colours through colour analysis can influence the way we present ourselves.
WORKSHOPS
From conversation to reflection and action
My workshops are designed to be interactive, reflective and practical.
Rather than simply delivering information, I create space for participants to consider their own experiences, challenge assumptions and explore how ideas can be translated into everyday practice.
Workshops can be delivered for professional groups, organisations, universities, charities, community organisations, women's groups and conferences.
Workshops include:
Anti-Oppressive Practice
An interactive exploration of power, privilege, difference and marginalisation in professional practice.
Participants reflect on how these dynamics can show up in everyday interactions, decision-making and professional relationships, and consider practical ways to develop more anti-oppressive ways of working.
Ideal for: Counsellors, therapists, psychologists, supervisors, educators, managers and other professionals.
Anti-Oppressive Supervision
A reflective workshop for supervisors exploring how power, difference and identity influence the supervisory relationship.
Participants consider how supervisors can create spaces that support challenge, accountability, curiosity and psychological safety while remaining attentive to wider systems of power.
Ideal for: Clinical supervisors, managers, educators and professionals who provide supervision.
Anti-Oppressive Wellbeing
A practical and reflective workshop exploring wellbeing beyond individual responsibility.
Participants consider how identity, culture, relationships, social expectations, workplace environments and structural inequalities can influence wellbeing.
The workshop encourages a more compassionate, realistic and anti-oppressive understanding of self-care and wellbeing.
Working Within Diversity
Based on my Working Within Diversity model, this workshop explores how practitioners can work more confidently and thoughtfully with the concepts of identity, diversity and culturally-close and distant relationships.
Participants explore identity, cultural context, power and privilege, while developing practical approaches to bringing greater cultural responsiveness into their work.
Cultural Attunement
Moving beyond cultural awareness, this interactive workshop explores how we can develop greater curiosity, flexibility and responsiveness when working across diversity and with identities.
Participants consider how to avoid assumptions, stereotypes and simplified ideas about culture, while developing a more thoughtful approach to understanding the people they work with.
Identity, Belonging & Wellbeing
A reflective workshop exploring the connection between identity and wellbeing.
Participants consider:
Who am I?
Where do I belong?
What shapes my sense of self?
What happens when aspects of our identity are misunderstood, marginalised or unseen?
The workshop explores how greater self-understanding, connection and belonging can contribute to more meaningful wellbeing.
Colour & Identity: Understanding Yourself Through Colour
An interactive introduction to professional colour analysis through the Colour & Identity approach.
Participants explore how colour interacts with natural colouring, confidence, identity and self-expression, with opportunities for live colour demonstrations and practical reflection.
This can also be adapted into a small-group Colour & Identity Experience, incorporating individual Express Colour Analysis.
Colour, Confidence & Self-Expression
Exploring how colour can influence the way we see ourselves, express ourselves and move through the world.
This workshop combines practical colour exploration with conversations around confidence, identity and authentic self-expression.
Muslim Mental Health & Wellbeing
A culturally and faith-sensitive workshop exploring the relationship between Muslim identity, faith, culture and wellbeing.
Participants consider how professionals can create more accessible spaces for Muslim clients, colleagues, students or communities.
Beyond Self-Care
Why self-care isn't always enough.
An interactive exploration of why traditional self-care messages don't always reflect people's realities.
Participants consider the impact of identity, expectations, relationships, work, culture, power and wider social contexts on wellbeing, developing a more holistic and anti-oppressive understanding of self-care.
